All courses are taught in English, and your thesis is written and defended in English as well.

Before coming to Japan, I knew very little about the language and culture. Through the Sanuki Program and Japanese for Survival Classes, I was given the chance to study Japanese language and culture at my own pace. Japanese language ability is not required for admission, but knowing even a little will make your daily life here richer and more enjoyable.

Be prepared to fail—and learn from it. Research does not always go as planned. When experiments do not work, pause, regroup, and ask for help. Your supervisor and fellow students are willing to support you. Take risks—you never know what you may discover.

Maintain balance between research and personal well-being. There will be periods when your project demands more time, but remember that productivity also requires rest. Harmony between work and life will help you stay motivated.

Finally, ask yourself: Why am I here? What skills do you want to gain during this program? My professor encouraged me to identify the skills I wanted to develop from the beginning, and that clarity guides my decisions every day.
