We do not recommend a particular provider and the links here are only for your convenience and are not a recommendation of a particular provider.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Can I use my cell phone in Japan? <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Yes, (depending on your carrier) <strong>but<\/strong> it is extremely expensive. Typical charges are \u00a0300-400 JPY per minute. You should plan on using Skype, Line, Facebook or email at the university to communicate with friends and family. We recommend that you get a SIMM card for Japan.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #2b2b2b;\"><span style=\"font-size: revert;\">You can purchase them at the airport in <\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #2b2b2b;\">Japan<\/span><span style=\"font-size: revert;\"> but, <span style=\"color: #2b2b2b;\">generally speaking, <\/span>they are more <\/span>expensive<span style=\"font-size: revert;\"> . However, there will be a few times that you will need to dress more formally. Men typically will wear a shirt, tie and jacket and slacks and women, a skirt (or long slacks) a blouse, and jacket. Please keep in mind that in Japan is a family conservative country, so casual; wear would be &#8220;polo type shirts&#8221;, open neck collar shirts, etc., with trousers, slacks skirts, or similar.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At JICA in Yokohama, you will probably need both formal and semi-casual clothing.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>What is the weather like?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Weather Summary: Takamatsu, October\u202f14\u201329<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><br data-start=\"89\" data-end=\"92\" \/><\/strong><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\" style=\"color: #000000;\">In mid-to-late October, Takamatsu experiences a gradual cooling from early autumn warmth into the chill of late fall. Daytime highs generally range from about 22\u202f\u00b0C (early period) to around 19\u202f\u00b0C (late period), while overnight lows decrease from approx.\u202f16\u202f\u00b0C down to 14\u202f\u00b0C toward the month&#8217;s end. Rainfall is moderate \u2014 historically there are around 8 rainy days in that span, with about 5\u20136\u202fmm per day on average, summing to roughly 40\u201350\u202fmm for the two-week period.
