Gorongensis-Subspecies-Group

(Characteristics)

Ssp. gorongensis is the most recently described new subspecies of sp. priamus.
It is a very small subspecies, placed in a separate subspecies group by DNA sequencing, and is quite different in size and spotted pattern from the near range nominotypical ssp. from Seram Is. and ssp. hecuba f. loc. albireo from Watubela Islands, located to the south.
