INDONESIA [Irian Jaya] Numfor (= Numfoor) Is. (between Biak Is. and Irian Jaya).

(Characteristics)

This subspecies is a new one, which are described in 2006.

(Summary of Original Description)

Intermediate forms between ssp. poseidon and ssp. teucrus.

(Spotted pattern)

♂: The coloration of patches resembles that of ssp. poseidon, but the anal band and the submarginal band of FW are narrower and more irregular than in ssp. teucrus. The green median stripe is minute or absent. The apex of HW is rounded in ssp. teucrus but is pointed in this subspecies. (The black discal spots are minute or absent in ssp. teucrus, but two are present in the holotype specimen).

♀: More contrasting than in ssp. poseidon and teucrus. The cell-spot is rectangular and does not widen toward the base of the cell as in the ssp. teucrus.
