Deslisle described it as a f. loc. of ssp. poseidon in 2004.
(Characteristics)
It is difficult to distinguish this subspecies from ssp. poseidon.
(Spotted pattern)
♂: The semi-translucent golden spot on the subcostal space and a broad black marginal border on HW may be present in many individuals.
♀: Two phenotypes – dull (=pale) form and contrasted (=dark) form – exist. These types resemble those of ssp. hecuba.
(Variation)
♂-f. viridodentis Deslisle & Sclavo, 20089): [Aberrant FW pattern] Presence of one or more fang (tooth)-shaped green patch at the cell apex of FW. (➡arruana, teucrus )
♂-f. viridofusura Deslisle & Sclavo, 201510): [Aberrant FW pattern] The radial and submarginal bands connected subapically. Moreover, the scattered green scales within the cell and a tooth-like green patch at apex of the cell. (➡euphorion, hecuba )
