(Characteristics)

  1. It includes four subspecies and one local form with primitive morphology distributed from Ambon Is. to the east coast of Australia.
  2. The FW upper side of ♂: without the median stripe. The submarginal band merges with the anal band and is wavy. The HW upper side of ♂: the wing shape is round and black discal spots are large and distinct. The submarginal golden spots present frequently. The black marginal border is broad.
  3. The ground color of the wings of ♀ is darker, and grayish-white spots on both FW and HW are smaller than those of other subspecies-group.
