(Spotted pattern)
♂: FW broadly triangular; HW with rounded apex and pointed tornus. On the surface, unlike other species of subgenus Schoenbergia, the cubital band is completely fused with the anal band to form a triangular band, thus there are only two bands, this one and the radial band. HW almost entirely semi-translucent golden patches often with three green discal spots, and in some individuals with small black spots in the center. White stripe on the posterior margin of the eyes and red hairs on lateral thorax are present.
♀: It is the largest of the subgenera and has the widest wingspan. The ground color of wing is dark brown to blackish brown, and the spot-pattern is basically the same as that of other subgenera, except for ssp. procus. HW pale band tends to be entirely yellow in highland species, while it is white basally in lowland species. They also have white stripes on the posterior margin of the eyes and red hairs on lateral thorax.
