(Distribution) [DCD 11]

Western area of New Guinea – Irian Jaya, Waigeo Is., Misool Is., Yapen Is.

(Vertical distribution)

0 – 2, 000 m. a. s. l.

(Spotted pattern)

♂: FW is rather narrow, and HW extend toward the tonus, because the space 2 is narrower because V2nd – V3rd are very close together. FW have three iridescent green bands. The radial band is narrower, and many individuals have a semi-translucent golden spot in space 7 and sometimes can also be found space 6. HW has black discal spots in the costal space and spaces 6 – 5, with semi-translucent spots inside of it. In outer end of spaces 3 – 4, semi-translucent golden spots are smaller due to invading of green band commencing from inner margin.

♀: FW blackish brown with a cell-spot, subapical streaks, submarginal spots, and discal spots. HW pale band are large enough to include the cell-apex. Dark discal spots are round, and submarginal area is dark brown, but the underside is yellow. The veins of pale band tend to be indistinct in lowland subspecies but are clearly marked in highland subspecies.
