(Characteristics)
- It has s wide distribution range from Nepal, southwestern China to Indochina, the Philippines, and further west from southern India to Taiwan in the east. Southern India is the western limit of Genus Troides.
- FW of ♂ have relatively long anterior margin (=costa) and inner margin (=dorsum) with concave outer margin (=termen) and pointed apex.
- The vein-stripes on FW of ♂ are not fringed with white scales as in other groups, but are caused by the thinning of the black scales. The base of vein-stripe along V2nd is often yellow.
- The male is characterized by a crescent-shaped shadow by black scales (black shading) at the tip of black projection on HW. However, these are existing only the upper face, not on the under surface. In some species, the golden spots on both sides of HW emit beautiful fluorescent color in oblique light.
