(Characteristics)
Anambas Islands, which are habitats of subspecies kuris, is an isolated islands in the South China Sea, halfway between Kalimantan (=Borneo) and Malay Peninsula. It is a little-known subspecies and are very similar to ssp. perintis from Tambelan Islands geographically located in the south.
(Spotted pattern)
♂: All vein-stripes of FW are present, but not V-shape in space 4. From V1b to V4th, they are short and present on submarginal area. Color of vein-stripes is slightly yellow from the cell-apex to anterior region of wing, but the other veins are grayish white. Black marginal projections on HW are medium in size.
♀: The vein-stripes on FW are similar in size to those of other subspecies, but are grayish white and bright. The dark discal spots on HW are larger and longer than those of other subspecies, therefore yellow area is quite small.
