(Characteristics)

This is the most recently described subspecies, although its existence has been noted for some time (Rothschild, 1891). It was rediscovered in a recent survey.

(Spotted pattern)

♂: Very similar to ssp. pistor, with a triangular golden spot on the subcostal space of HW. Moreover, shapes of cell-spot and six discal golden patches are the same as ssp. pistor.

♀: Bright vein-striped (V2nd – V9th) present on FW. It can be divides into two types according to the size of the dark discal spots of HW. One type has large black discal spots that fuse with each other to form a band, in addition fused with a broad black outer margin as in sp. staudingeri. While other type resembles the nominotypical subspecies with isolated small black discal spots. The former being more common.
