(Characteristics)
- This species has the widest habitat and therefore the most subspecies in the Birdwing Butterflies.
- FW is long at the inner margin and short in length. HW has a short inner margin and a distinctly wavy outer margin.
- HW of ♂ is almost entirely covered with semi-translucent golden patch.
- In many subspecies, there are two forms of ♀: dark form (FW without vein-stripes as in ♂) and light form (FW with vein-stripes).
