The size is somewhat larger than the nominotypical subspecies.
♂: The apex of FW is slightly pointed. On the underside of FW, vein-stripes are present (75%). On the HW, the black marginal border is broad and black marginal projections are large, and a black spot on the anal angle on space 2 is often minute.
♀: Dark form and intermediate form: The wingspan is broad and ground color of the wings is dark brown. All vein-stripes of FW are slightly spotted or shaded. The dark discal spots on HW are large and in contact with each other and are fused to black marginal projections, so yellow spots are reduced.
