There are often golden-colored organisms in the world, but I have never seen a color as golden as the golden spots on the submarginal area of the hind wings of O. victoriae. The head and pronotum of Sulcophanaeus imperator (Linnaeus, 1758) (dung beetle from Argentina, South America) are no match for this. Each scale looks so fine that I felt as if I were a treasure hunter scooping up gold dust with my bare hands. Unfortunately, even my high-resolution photographs could not reproduce their beauty. I urge you to see the real specimens. (Yasui)
