One of the consortium\u2019s flagship activities is the&nbsp;<strong>SUIJI Service Learning Program<\/strong>, which trains international \u201cservant leaders\u201d by engaging students in local communities to support primary industries and contribute to sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From&nbsp;<strong>August 19 to September 5, 2025<\/strong>, undergraduate students from Japan and Indonesia will stay in local community of Miki Town. During this time, they provide hands-on support at the grassroots level and gain valuable experience in sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year,&nbsp;<strong>7 Indonesian students<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>12 Japanese students<\/strong>&nbsp;(19 participants in total) are joining the program. Many past participants have continued their academic journey through the joint graduate programs offered under the SUIJI Consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Opening Ceremony Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks and encouragement from academic leaders of the consortium universities, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prof. Emeritus Tamura<\/strong>, Program Leader<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dean Prof. Ogawa<\/strong>, Special Address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prof. Suzuki<\/strong>, Program Chair<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vice Dean Prof. Kawamura<\/strong>, Faculty of Agriculture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prof. Peter Lutes<\/strong>, Chair of International Exchange<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assoc. Prof. Toyota<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lecturer Khalife<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Closing comments were delivered by&nbsp;<strong>Prof. Emeritus Hayakawa<\/strong>, reaffirming the importance of international collaboration and community-based learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Introductions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All participating students introduced themselves during the ceremony, fostering an atmosphere of exchange and mutual understanding. The group includes&nbsp;<strong>7 students from Indonesia<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>12 students from Japan<\/strong>, reflecting the consortium\u2019s commitment to balanced international engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking Ahead<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through fieldwork and collaboration with local communities, SUIJI Service Learning participants will develop practical skills and cultural awareness. The program continues to be a cornerstone in cultivating future leaders committed to sustainability and international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator
