New first-year students attended a welcome ceremony at the Anabuki Arena Kagawa yesterday morning before coming to the Faculty of Agriculture campus in the afternoon. Parents had the opportunity to attend a <strong>welcome speech<\/strong> that included a presentation of the strong English curriculum from Prof. Dr. Peter Lutes, two of his students, and myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All students now have to choose their classes for the first semester that starts on April 10. I am looking forward to meeting new students and giving my first classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, four undergraduate students just arrived from Assumption University, Thailand, for a <strong>two-month internship<\/strong>. I will assist Prof. Dr. Peter Lutes with their training, join some activities including a visit of the rare sugar production station and an udon noodle making workshop, and give them a special lecture on Science Communication using my favorite organism: ants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The beginning of April marks the start of the new academic year in Japan.
