(Episodes of discovery and original description)
It was described by Parrott based on 16♂♂, 6♀♀from East Kalimantan. The Subspecies was named after Jan Haugum, a special friend of the author, for his extensive study to birdwings.
(Characteristics)
This subspecies inhabits the southern part of same island as the nominotypical ssp., but the separation boundary between these two subspecies is unknown. The differences between the two subspecies are minor, but this subspecies becomes somewhat blackened.
(Spotted pattern)
♂: Not distinguishable from nominotypical ssp. No white spot on the apex of subcostal space of HW.
♀: Very similar to the nominotypical ssp., but yellowish green patches and white patches, and spots on both FW and HW are smaller.
