Advance your expertise and prepare for a global career with a two-year Master’s degree at the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kagawa University. Our programs combine advanced coursework with hands-on research, giving you the knowledge and skills to address real-world challenges in agriculture, food science, and biological sciences.
Students join one of three academic divisions:
- Bio-resource Production Science
- Applied Bio-resource Science
- Rare Sugar Science
These Master’s programs are taught in English, providing an accessible and supportive academic environment for international students.
In addition, selected programs offer a pathway to doctoral study through the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science (PhD), and to theDoctoral Program of the Graduate School Of Science For Creative Emergence (PhD).
The Graduate School of Agriculture offers two specialized Master’s options for international students.
1) Special Master’s Course for International Scholars (Msc)
This English-taught program is ideal for students who wish to strengthen their academic background and prepare for doctoral study in Japan.
- Taught entirely in English
- Open to both government-sponsored and self-funded students
- Eligible for Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarships
- Focuses on research training and academic development
- Provides a strong pathway to PhD study through the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science (PhD)
2) Special Master’s Program in Sustainable Food Production and Management (Msc)
This unique industry-linked program is offered in cooperation with a consortium of Japanese food companies engaged in frozen food production and overseas food development.
- Taught in Japanese for non-native speakers of Japanese (with a language support system)
- Open to both government-sponsored and self-funded students
- Eligible for Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarships
Students will develop:
- Advanced knowledge in food and agricultural science
- Practical management and leadership skills
- An understanding of Japanese business and management philosophy
- Professional Japanese language ability
Graduates are prepared for:
- Careers in the international food and agriculture industries
- Leadership roles in agribusiness and food management
- Further study at the doctoral level
This program is taught primarily in Japanese and includes structured language support to help students succeed academically and professionally.
