From February 27 to March 2, 2026, Prof. Dr. Peter Lutes of the Kagawa University Faculty and Graduate School of Agriculture visited Chiang Mai University to discuss opportunities to strengthen academic collaboration and research cooperation between the two institutions.
The visit included discussions with Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Leksawasdi, Assistant to the President of Chiang Mai University, regarding broader opportunities to expand institutional collaboration and international academic exchange.
Prof. Dr. Peter Lutes also met with Assist. Prof. Dr. Daruni Naphrom, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, to discuss faculty-level cooperation, including the potential development of a Letter of Agreement (LoA) for academic cooperation between the Faculty of Agriculture at Chiang Mai University and the Faculty of Agriculture at Kagawa University.
Additional discussions were held with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phumon Sookwong, Head of the Functional Food Research Center for Well-being at the Multidisciplinary Research Institute, to explore potential research collaboration and future academic exchange opportunities.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen academic ties and identify potential areas for expanded collaboration between Chiang Mai University and Kagawa University in research, education, and international student mobility.
