On April 14, 2026, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Short Stay (SS) Program, hosted by the Faculty of Agriculture in cooperation with the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, Assumption University, was held.

The ceremony began with welcoming remarks from Prof. Ogawa, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, addressed to the four participants. This was followed by brief messages from Prof. Lutes, Chair of the International Exchange Committee, and Prof. Yonekura. Students then introduced themselves and shared their goals. The session was moderated by Lecturer Khalife.

During the program, students will conduct research under the guidance of Prof. Ogawa and Prof. Yonekura. Research topics include the effects of polyphenol addition on protein-based foods and carotenoid uptake using Caco-2 cells.

In addition to hands-on research in well-equipped laboratories, students will learn about the Faculty’s research environment while experiencing Japanese language and culture. Daily interaction with faculty and students supports both academic growth and cross-cultural exchange.

Through the SS Program, Kagawa University aims to support the development of students’ research skills and provide a meaningful student experience, while strengthening its partnership with Assumption University.
