The Faculty of Agriculture, Kagawa University has successfully hosted Sakura Science Program over the past 15 years. In previous years, the program focused on Food Science.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, the Faculty of Agriculture broadens the program. The new program has been in operation since 2022-2023 and brings talented young human resources for short-term visits to Japan with the goal of providing the chance to experience Japan’s cutting-edge science & technology and Japanese culture.

About Sakura Science
In 2014, the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) launched the Sakura Science Program with the aim of fostering global academic and research exchanges. Since its inception, the program has provided talented young individuals from around the world with opportunities for short-term visits to Japan. Through these visits, participants experience Japan’s cutting-edge advancements in science and technology, as well as its rich cultural heritage

The program operates through a collaborative framework, where Japanese receiving organizations and overseas sending organizations propose exchange plans. These plans undergo a selection process before being officially adopted, ensuring a structured and meaningful experience for participants.
