Summary

Next-generation sequencing technology, which has made great progress in recent years, has made it possible to analyze functions at the gene level not only in specific fields such as molecular biology, but also in all fields related to life sciences, including medicine, agriculture, food, and environmental fields. This research center is promoting the development of a center for bioinformatics technology, i.e., information processing of vast gene sequences by next-generation sequencing of all target organisms (from higher plants and animals to microorganisms) in the fields of medicine, agriculture, engineering, and biology. The purpose of this research center is to establish a research and educational foundation for genome analysis technology at the university, and to form a regional genome research center to contribute to the region through genome analysis technology.
