Summary: 2020 JICA Training Program for Japanese Descendants (ONLINE)

The 2020 JICA Training Program for Japanese Descendants (October 31 – December 6, 2020) was successfully completed.

Because of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the program was conducted online. Four participants from Brazil were accepted to the program. The program began online on October 31 with a program overview.  

During the program,  they studied about how to make a successful food business in their home countries. Studies included specialized lectures on food science, food safety, business planning and marketing skills, the role of fusion food in the globalized world, virtual company visits to study udon making, restaurant planning and business models that have proven successful.

Lectures and special training activities were hosted online approximately every three to four days for the duration of the program. Between these events, the participants submitted comments, reports and exchanged ideas on the topics with other participants and the program instructors. While there were many challenges to both instructors and participants, with strong efforts from all involved, the program was successfully completed.

2020年度JICA日系社会研修(2020年10月31日〜12月6日)を成功裡に終了することができました。

コロナウイルス感染症のパンデミックにより、本プログラムはオンラインで実施されました。本プログラムは、ブラジルから4名の研修員を受け入れ、10月31日にその概要から開始されました。プログラム期間中、研修員は自国において食品ビジネスをいかに成功させるかを学びました。内容には、食品科学、食の安全、ビジネスの計画やマーケティングの技法、グローバル化された世界におけるフュージョン料理の役割、うどん作りを学ぶためのバーチャル会社訪問、成功しているレストラン経営及びビジネスモデルが含まれていました。講義や特別なトレーニングはプログラム期間中およそ3、4日ごとにオンラインで実施されました。研修員はレポートを提出し、トピックに関するアイディアを他の研修員や担当教員と交換しました。担当教員にとっても研修員にとっても多くの挑戦を含んでいましたが、全員の多大な努力により、プログラムは成功裏に終了しました。
