JICA Training Program for Nikkei Communities 2019 -2021
Special programs were developed as part of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Training Program for Japanese descendants focusing on the development of new, entrepreneurial food businesses. The Development of a New, Small Food Business Programs are supported by JICA. The purpose of these program are to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to establish a a new food business in their home countries.
2021 Program
The 2021 Program is offered through virtual training because of the global coronavirus pandemic. Blended learning was adopted which included face to face online video conferencing, discussion boards, google classroom and video on demand.

The 2020 Program was offered through virtual training because of the global coronavirus pandemic. Blended learning was adopted which included face to face online video conferencing, discussion boards, google classroom and video on demand.
Dates: October 30, 2020 – December 16, 2020.
Five participants, three from Argentina and two from Brazil, were accepted to the program. Initial training was conducted by JICA in Yokohama after which they shifted to Takamatsu, Japan for the main part of the training program organized by the Faculty of Agriculture and the International Office of Kagawa University.

PROGRAM TITLE: Development of a New, Small Food Business
(Food safety: preparation and handling; Product Development and Promotion, and Back-casting for Business Model Development)
This special program was developed as part of the Training Program for Japanese Descendants. It is supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). To purpose of this program is to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to establish a a new food business in their home countries.
This training program, “Development of a New, Small Food Business”, is supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of the JICA Training Program for Japanese Descendants. It was developed to provide opportunities people of Japanese descent to visit Japan to acquire techniques and knowledge, and then apply these acquired techniques and knowledge to the social, technical or scientific development of their own countries.
The Program focusses on Latin America and South America.
To be hosted online on Google classroom with Video on Demand (asynchronous activities) and and ZOOM through (synchronous activities)
