SUIJI Service Learning Program

The Six University Initiative Japan Indonesia Consortium, (SUIJI Consortium) is a joint effort between Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Gadjah Mada University (UGM),  and Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) of Indonesia and  Ehime University, Kagawa University, Kochi University of Japan. One activity of the  SUIJI Consortium is the Service Learning Program. The Service Learning Program trains international “servant leaders” by creating opportunities for students to support primary industry at the local level to contribute to sustainability.

Students in the undergraduate course of the Japan/Indonesia 6-university consortium (SUIJI) stay for 1 week to 3 months in local communities providing assistance at the local level. Some past participants have continued to study in the joint graduate programs offered through the SUIJI Consortium.
