On December 19, 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture and the Graduate School of Agriculture at Kagawa University hosted a special international exchange event in collaboration with the Embassy of Indonesia. This memorable occasion brought together students and faculty members with a shared interest in fostering academic and cultural connections with Indonesia. The event took place at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kagawa, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The program featured a variety of engaging presentations and discussions:
- Opening Comments: Prof. Dr. Peter LUTES, Chair of the International Exchange Committee, outlined education & research accomplishments and described special programs for Indonesians.
- Special Guest Remarks: Prof. Dr. Amzul Rifin, Educational Attache of the Embassy of Indonesia, shared his insights and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Indonesia and Japan through education and collaboration.
- Six Universities Initiative Japan Indonesia (SUIJI) Program: Professor Emeritus Dr. Hirotoshi TAMURA, Leader of the SUIJI Program, provided an overview of this unique initiative, highlighting its achievements in promoting student and faculty exchange between Japan and Indonesia.
- Laboratory Introductions: Doctoral students and SUIJI program participants introduced their research and academic endeavors:
- Lillah Zuhrotul Ukhro
- Adriyanus Ivan Pratama
- Humairah (Hasanudin University, 2nd Year Master’s Student)
- Widya Astuti Kamma (Gadjah Mada University, 2nd Year Master’s Student)
- Yehezkiel Allen Santoso (Sustainable Food Production and Management, 1st Year Master’s Student)
- Septiano (1st Year Bachelor’s Student)
- SUIJI Student Greetings: Kagawa University students, Saki KUWAJIMA, Yume MATSUBARA, and Kaede YOSHIDA, shared their experiences and reflections on participating in the SUIJI program.
- Closing Comments: Prof. Dr. Peter LUTES concluded the event with words of gratitude and encouragement, emphasizing the value of continued collaboration and international exchange.
- Free Discussion: The event ended with an open discussion, allowing attendees to network and exchange ideas in a relaxed and friendly environment.
