Short Stay Program (SS Program) 

 

We are pleased that you will attend the 2015 International Exchange and Educational Program for Food Safety to be held August 17 to September 19, 2015 at the Faculty of Agriculture of Kagawa University.

 

Program Overview 

A) Stipend information 

 

The stipend is ¥ 160,000 (JPY). It will be paid in cash on August 18, 2015. To receive the stipend, you must present/submit:

  1. proof of travel insurance.
  2. a photocopy of the front page of your passport, and the page showing your entry stamp to Japan.
  3. a photocopy of your e-ticket and itinerary to and from the country of the dispatching university.
  4. a photocopy of a document which certify the total number of transfer credits issued by the dispatching university (after returning to your home country).
  • You must attend the entire internship (August 17 to September 19, 2015). You may not arrive late nor leave early.
  • If you do not attend the full internship, you will NOT be eligible to receive the stipend.
  • You are responsible for arranging your travel visa (if required) but we will assist you by providing invitation letters, etc.

Students that are not receiving financial support (stipend) from this program must present/submit:

  1. proof of travel insurance.
  2. a photocopy of a document which certify the total number of transfer credits issued by the dispatching university (after returning to your home country).

  • You are responsible for arranging your travel visa (if required) but we will assist you by providing invitation letters, etc.

B) Accommodation and materials costs 

There is a ¥40,000 fee for items that are used specifically for this course such as:

1) chemicals, materials components for lab work/ activities,

2) a bacterial/infection test for the food factory visit (required by the food company),

3) transportation costs for factory visits,

4) shared accommodation and reasonable utility costs (electric, water & gas).

5) Check in is on August 17. Check out is on September 19.

6) You must arrive at the Faculty of Agriculture of Kagawa University at 1:00 pm on August 17. Please go to Room A405.

C) Certificate of Attendance 

To successfully complete the internship, interns must take part in all activities, complete assignments and/or lab tasks, and make a PowerPoint presentation. Interns who satisfy these requirements will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

D) Follow up discussions/presentation 

We request the interns to participate in online discussions and presentations in December.

F) Photographs 

Photographs will be taken during the internship to document the internship. These photographs may be used by Kagawa University to publicize this program and our international activities. By joining this internship program you acknowledge this and consent for photographs taken during the internship to be used by Kagawa University.
